Chinese National Trade Fairs in Moscow

Alternative Solutions for Russian Industry and Retail
National Chinese Trade Fairs with the participation of Chinese companies will take place on November 12-14 at the Timiryazev Centre. In the current economic conditions, relations between Russia and China have already confirmed their stability, and their further strengthening meets the long-term interests of both countries. Mutual trade turnover reaches new records every year, and at the moment, plans are outlined to increase it to $300 billion by 2030.

The Chinese national trade fairs China Machinery Fair and China Commodity Fair are also intended to contribute to the development of trade and economic relations between Russia and China. In particular, on the Chinese side, the organizers of the events are the China Chamber of Commerce for Import and Export of Machinery and Electronic Products, the Department of Commerce of Shandong Province, as well as the municipal people's governments of Taizhou and Wenzhuo City, China Council for the Promotion of International Trade Jiangsu Sub-Council and Zhejiang Broad International Convention and Exhibition.

International / China Commodity Fair 2024: hundreds of solutions for retail and commodity business

Last year, for the first time after several years of pandemic restrictions, Chinese companies were able to present their solutions onsite in person, demonstrating excellent results and high interest from visitors. Almost 14,000 people visited the shows: 9,413 of them came to the International / China Commodity Fair and 4,578 to China Machinery Fair.

Chinese brands are becoming increasingly popular on the Russian market. This is evidenced by the increase in the turnover of electronic and other consumer goods. Thus, according to the results of last year, Chinese products came out on top in popularity among Russians – in particular, the share of purchases of household appliances and electronics increased to 43%, including growing interest in smart home solutions and technology, which, by the way, is annually demonstrated by exhibitors at the International / China Commodity Fair: robotic vacuum cleaners, robotic window washers, smart speakers and much more. Last year, visitors could even see a robot dog at the Dreame stand.
Online marketplaces statistics show that since the beginning of 2023, Russians have been buying household products more often. For example, according to Ozon, 80% of sales in this category are kitchen products, home textiles, and decor products. Against the backdrop of the departure of Western brands, high demand from Russian buyers remains for high-quality clothing and children's products.

In response to market demand, at the International / China Commodity Fair, over 200 manufacturers and suppliers from China and Russia will showcase their products in the following categories:
● Household and kitchen goods
● Home appliances and electronics
● Goods for gardening and outdoor
● Gifts, souvenirs, stationery
● Children's goods
● Beauty and health products
● Clothing and accessories

Representatives of Russian trade business – from large retail chains to marketplace sellers – will be able to find reliable suppliers of the listed product groups from China, assess the quality of the offered products onsite and negotiate on beneficial purchasing conditions in person.

Industrial Equipment and Innovations at China Machinery Fair

Along with the consumer goods exhibition, there will be an exhibition of industrial equipment from China, China Machinery Fair, where participants will present:
● Packaging equipment
● Pumps, valves and pipeline fittings
● Machine tools and components
● Construction equipment
● Electrical equipment
● Construction equipment and tools
● Agricultural machinery

As for road construction and special machinery, 70% of the fleet updated in 2023 is covered by equipment from China. Considering the active construction of road infrastructure in Russia and the need to update almost half of the fleet, the high demand will remain in the coming years. And the China Machinery Fair will offer enough options for these and other industries from over 200 suppliers and manufacturers of industrial goods and equipment are participating in the exhibition.

Consulting support for the business onsite

It is not a secret that working with foreign counterparties is not easy and has its own nuances. That is why the trade fairs also have a special section – Consulting Center, where specialists help participants and guests in solving various issues of cooperation with foreign partners and marketplaces, including finding and checking a supplier, logistics, financing, customs clearance, sales and marketing.

For example, last year, one of the participants of this section was the largest Russian marketplace Wildberries. In everyday life, it is quite difficult to meet Wildberries' experts in person, but visitors of the shows had a unique opportunity to talk to them directly. “We are participating in such trade fairs for the first time. We decided to check the effect and received positive result: there was a large flow of sellers. We answered all the questions of new sellers and at the same time collected feedback from those who already work with us,” Wildberries’ representatives said.

Business program: Russian-Chinese cooperation and business development

Business program with the participation of experts, representatives of industry associations, business and government agencies is an important part of the exhibitions. The current industry issues related to Russian-Chinese cooperation, as well as effective trade and industrial interaction, will be discussed here.

Another important part of the program is a conference dedicated to work with China, promotion of commodity business, sales increase, and entering online marketplaces. In the form of workshops, speeches and open discussions, e-commerce and retail experts, sellers and marketing specialists will share practices on effective planning of marketing budgets, secrets of communication with Chinese partners, and will also develop a plan for launching brands on marketplaces as a real-time show.
