WB will equalize commission rates for Russian and Chinese sellers
The joint company Wildberries and Russ (RWB) has introduced a set of measures to ensure transparent conditions for entrepreneurs following the meeting of the Expert Council of the Federal Antimonopoly Service (FAS) of Russia. It is noted that the company has developed a number of steps aimed at further ensuring transparent and predictable working conditions with the digital platform. These include equalizing conditions for Russian and Chinese sellers, pricing management, and the terms for offering discounts at the expense of the digital platform.
"As part of implementing these approaches, RWB will equalize the working conditions for Chinese and Russian sellers in terms of commission rates," the statement emphasized. Additionally, the company will improve tools for interacting with sellers regarding pricing management on the platform and will automate the mechanism for voluntarily opting out of discounts on goods financed by the marketplace. Sellers will now be able to disable or, conversely, enable the application of discounts in their personal account.
At the same time, RWB is developing a commercial policy that will provide entrepreneurs with greater transparency and predictability for doing business on the platform. The policy will be submitted for approval to the FAS Russia in the near future and will include both pricing principles on the platform and the rules for determining and offering discounts financed by the marketplace. RWB will continue to implement tools for the systematic development of platform-based entrepreneurship based on the principles of partnership and fair competition.
