Experts to share how to do business with China in the new environment

It’s hard to find a sector of the economy untouched by the pandemic. Areas related to cross-border relations, including trade, have been significantly affected. The times dictate new rules and trends: global transport configurations are changing, marketplaces and digital technologies are moving to the forefront.

As part of the ICF 2021 business program, experts will share how to do business with international partners in the new environment, enter marketplaces, and build effective logistics.

November 1
Day One – November 1

The first day, November 1, will be dedicated to issues of exporting to China, logistics, and product certification. Together with Maksim Cherepakhin, an export development specialist, visitors will first review the main indicators of the Chinese market and regulatory framework for trade in the country.

Alyona Shvetsova, a strategic marketing practitioner, will speak about opportunities in modern retail in China and the export of food products. Gennady Kononenko, Senior Partner at INVESTIUM, will address the important topic of insuring commercial risks when working with China. The session will also cover intellectual property market specifics, trademark creation in China, packaging trends, and the nuances of brand adaptation.

November 2

On November 2, the business program will be divided into several thematic blocks. The conference will open with Anna Fomicheva, founder of the Logistics Group and Vice President of the Russian-Asian Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs (RASPP). Together with Anna, attendees will assess the impact of COVID-19 on customs control and review recent changes in customs clearance procedures.

The next forum session will focus on marketplaces—platforms currently experiencing rapid growth. Susanna Uraeva, Account Director at UPMARKET—a platform managing all stages of marketplace sales—will speak about how to enter such online platforms, find a profitable niche, and choose the right legal structure for your business.

The final session of the program will be devoted to the topic of transport cooperation between China and Russia in the post-COVID era. Experts from RASPP—representatives of Russian and Chinese authorities and leading logistics companies—will discuss the current situation, challenges, growth opportunities in the transport sector, and other key issues.
Topics of the session include:

  • Promising areas of Russian-Chinese cooperation in the transport sector within the framework of the Belt and Road Initiative.
  • How the air cargo market from China to Russia has changed: opportunities and prospects.
  • Trends in the transport and logistics services market.
  • Growth points in rail logistics: the Vladivostok–Kaliningrad route.
