According to the results of the first quarter of 2025, Russians’ income from entrepreneurial activities reached 1.6 trillion rubles—a record high for the past two years, according to analysts from the Higher School of Economics (HSE) citing Rosstat data. The information was published by the newspaper “Izvestia.”
Compared to the same period last year, entrepreneurial income grew by almost 22%—in the first quarter of 2024, this figure was 1.4 trillion rubles. In the first quarter of 2023, the volume of business income for Russian citizens was even lower at 1.3 trillion rubles.
Experts attribute this growth to the active development of small and medium-sized businesses, as well as the increase in the number of self-employed citizens launching new projects and entering the domestic market. Additional growth factors, according to specialists, include expanded government support for entrepreneurs and a stable macroeconomic situation in the country.
Furthermore, the total income of Russians in the first quarter of 2025 also showed firm growth. The aggregate population income reached 27 trillion rubles, which is almost 18% higher than for the same period in 2024 (22.9 trillion rubles).
Thus, domestic entrepreneurship continues to show positive dynamics, and the contribution of entrepreneurs to the country’s economy is significantly increasing.
