More than 90% of Russians have noticed an increase in interest in Asian culture over the past few years. Many people intentionally purchase products from Asia, most often choosing marketplaces for these purchases. Recently, Yandex Market surveyed over 1,300 people, and here are the results.
Overall, about 36% of Russians are interested in Asian culture, especially fashion and lifestyle (44%), cinema (42%), and cuisine (32%). Among those interested, more than 80% buy products from Asia, mainly online: 66% use marketplaces and 19% shop in specialized stores. The most popular categories are clothing and footwear, electronics, and food products.

- Chinese brands in the "electronics" category have grown by 77% year-on-year, and their share has increased by 3 percentage points to 21% of total turnover.
- The number of sellers offering Chinese goods on the platform has increased 17-fold over the year and continues to grow. According to the marketplace, this surge of interest in Asian products is no coincidence—70% of consumers consciously choose to buy Chinese products.
- Revenue from sales of Asian cosmetics rose by 54% from July to October (mainly driven by Korean products).
