Giants' duel: Ozon ranked as the most trusted by Russian consumers

On the saturated Russian e-commerce market, the battle is being waged not only for customers' wallets but also for their trust. The holding company "Romir" has presented a new study revealing which retailers and marketplaces Russians trust the most. The survey of 1,600 respondents resulted in two key rankings: the top-of-mind awareness index and the trust index, which revealed interesting discrepancies.

Parity in recognition, but only one leader in trust

According to Romir's data, the absolute leaders in the top-of-mind awareness index are Ozon and Wildberries, each scoring 92%. This means these two platforms are the first that come to consumers' minds when they think about online shopping. However, the picture becomes more nuanced when it comes to actual trust.

Ozon maintains its leadership with a score of 92%, indicating a perfect alignment between its high visibility and an equally high level of loyalty. In contrast, Wildberries' trust index (87%) is somewhat lower than its awareness index. This is a key signal that 100% recognition does not always automatically translate into unconditional trust.

Yandex Market as a confident player

Yandex Market also demonstrates positive dynamics. Its trust index (82%) surpasses its awareness index (78%), which is a good sign for the platform's future growth.

Romir's study clearly demonstrates that the Russian e-com market is entering a new phase. The battle is no longer just about reach and awareness, but also about quality of service, reliability, and reputation, which together form the foundation of trust.

  • Ozon confirms its leader status, demonstrating an ideal balance between fame and loyalty.
  • Wildberries possesses maximum recognizability but has potential for growth in strengthening trust.
  • Yandex Market remains a strong and promising player with growing audience loyalty.

For market players, this means that future investments should be directed not only toward marketing but also toward impeccable service quality, which is the cornerstone of long-term consumer trust.
