In 2024, the retail trade turnover on marketplaces exceeded 4.8 trillion rubles, which is three times higher than the figure for 2022 (1.56 trillion rubles), according to “Vedomosti” citing Rosstat data released by the Minister of Economic Development, Maxim Reshetnikov. The share of online sales in total retail turnover over the past year increased from 11.3% to 15.2%.
According to the minister, this growth is due to the fact that online platforms help entrepreneurs reduce logistics costs, while allowing manufacturers from the regions to access markets in major cities.
