Russians are actively preparing to refresh their homes this summer, creating new opportunities for marketplace sellers in the home, interior design, and renovation categories.
According to a study conducted by SberUslugi’s Renovation Service and YooMoney, more than one-third of Russians plan to renovate or update their living spaces this summer. Specifically, 21% of respondents intend to carry out minor cosmetic repairs, while 13% are planning major renovation projects. Another 11% expect to refresh their homes through new décor, textiles, and accessories.
Living rooms, kitchens, and bathrooms emerged as the most popular areas for improvement, with around 30% of respondents naming each of these spaces as a priority. In addition, some consumers are planning upgrades to balconies, terraces, hallways, and walk-in closets.
For marketplace sellers, these findings point to sustained seasonal demand for home-related products. Categories likely to benefit include home décor, textiles, storage solutions, kitchen and bathroom products, and a wide range of accessories that help consumers refresh their interiors without undertaking a full-scale renovation.
Data from the YooKassa payment service supports this trend. Between March and May 2026, demand at specialized interior goods stores increased by 27% compared with the same period last year. During the same timeframe, total turnover in the segment rose by 17%.
The home improvement, renovation, and construction category also recorded strong growth. Demand increased by 27% year over year, while turnover grew by 7%. These figures suggest that consumers continue to invest in improving their living spaces despite shifting spending patterns.
For sellers, this creates promising opportunities across categories such as home textiles, décor, storage and organization products, lighting, and kitchen and bathroom accessories. The summer season could provide an additional sales boost for merchants that expand their assortments and tailor their offerings to consumers looking to refresh their homes.
