A study conducted by Yakov & Partners and Nielsen forecasts that by 2030, generative artificial intelligence could become a source of up to 160 billion rubles in annual operating profit for the Russian retail and e-commerce sectors. However, the expected impact is lower in the consumer goods segment, at 60-100 billion rubles.
Analysts note that around 70% of the largest companies in the sector are already actively investing in AI technologies, allocating an average of 1.1% of their revenue towards their development. Currently, only 12% of retailers have reached the scaling stage, while there are no such examples among manufacturers yet. Pioneers in this field include companies like Wildberries and X5, which are already using AI to improve business efficiency.
